Update: Possible Refund of U.S. Import Duties
Good news for our customers in the United States.
A refund program is now in place for certain U.S. import duties that were introduced during the Trump administration, following recent court rulings. As a result, customers who paid these import duties may be eligible to receive a refund of all or part of the amount paid.
Both FedEx and DHL have announced how they will process these refunds. In most cases, no action is required on your part. Once the carrier receives the refunded amount from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), it will be passed on to the customer who originally paid the import duties.
What does this mean for you?
If you paid import duties to FedEx or DHL when your order was delivered, you may be eligible for a refund.
Refunds will be processed in phases, so it may take some time before you receive your payment.
FedEx or DHL will contact you only if additional information is required.
FedEx
FedEx will process refunds after receiving the refunded duties from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Customers can monitor the status of their refund through the FedEx IEEPA Tariff Refund Portal.
DHL
For most personal shipments, DHL will automatically handle the refund process. Once DHL receives the refunded duties from CBP, the amount will be refunded to the customer who originally paid the import duties.
