In 1958, Eric Bernat, the founder of Chupa Chups, was having a philosophical thought. “What is it that the world needs?” He thought to himself. And then, he knew the answer. The answer was: candy that you should be able to eat on a stick. And that’s the idea of how Chupa Chups was born. Most children and adults love sweet flavours so it was a logical and rational choice to use all kinds of fruity flavours for the lollipops. And the name of Chupa Chups? That was inspired by a song, because the first name of the lollipop brand was only ‘chups’. Chupa Chups sounds way more exciting indeed, and that is one of the things that this lollipop brand is most good at: being exciting. Both for children and for adults.
