The history of Fernandes

The beginning of Fernandes was in 1933 when the Fernandes family started to develop their own soft drinks from Paramaribo, Suriname. Fernandes Soft Drinks was born. The first flavor which was brought to market was 'Cherry Bouquet', a flavor which is still very popular today. In the 1940s, the flavors Cream Ginger and Golden Orange were added. In the 1950s, the popular Green Punch was launched. In the 1970s, more and more people took the glass Fernandes bottles with them to the Netherlands to use them there. This event caused a shortage of bottles in Suriname. For this reason, Fernandes started selling the soft drink in the Netherlands too. At the moment, there are 9 different flavors.
