The history of Pickwick begins more than 260 years ago in a small village in Friesland, the Netherlands. Tea was still very English back then, so founder Douwe Egberts wanted an English name for the tea as well. His wife was reading the Pickwick papers of Charles Dickens at that time, so Douwe came up with the idea for a name for his tea. Tea with a taste is only introduced in the 70s and the tea label in the 60s. The Pickwick tea with the stagecoach logo is now unmissable in Dutch supermarkets.
